Ive switched from personal geodatabases to file gdbs going from XP to Win7 because the engine for mdbs is different: my old XP generated mdbs hung frequently in WIN7. Still have some questionable performance issues with shapefiles in ArcCatalog using Preview; they seem to hang the first time or at least take a long time to open. I have installed ArcGIS Desktop Single Use but it complains about Licence issue. No problems were experienced during installation and registration. ArchGIS 9.3 on Windows 7 simply complains about unreachable licence server. I have downloaded licence server software specified above and tried to install it on Windows 7. It complains that the licence files installed are for single use. What is theway forward Herbert, Like Show 0 Likes 0 Actions corverse Jul 17, 2010 9:59 PM Thanks a lot. What is theway forward Herbert, Hi Herbert, If you have a single use license then you do not need the license manager as this is for floating-license software products where the licenses are handled by a server, wich is why it complains about the single use license since it cant find a license server for it. Choose the folder Register Single Use and Extensions and press the button register now You should have three choices on how to proceed, choose the appropriate one for you, if you have an authorization-file for instance, you would choose I have recieved an authorization file from ESRI and.etc (note that the desktop administrator has a folder named license manager, and it should say notset when you look at it) You might have to re-install ArcGIS from scratch if the above doesnt work right away. If so, make sure you use a single use installation file for ArcEditor, and do not install license manager. Register your product with your authorization file (or whatever you may have) when prompted or use the desktop administrator at a later stage.
